1. Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
- Caregiver information: Your name, phone number, and any details you share with us by text message.
- Client information: Name, phone number, and personal details provided by the Caregiver (such as health notes, hobbies, personality, and daily needs).
- Call schedule preferences: Times, days, and timezone for scheduled calls.
Information We Collect Automatically
- Call recordings and transcripts: We record and transcribe phone calls between the AI companion and Clients. Calls may be monitored for quality assurance and testing purposes.
- Text message records: We store the content of text messages exchanged between Caregivers and our AI assistant.
- Consent records: We track when you give or revoke consent for automated calls and texts, including the date and method.
- Call logs: We record whether calls were answered, went to voicemail, or were missed, along with the date and time.
- Phone number metadata: We store phone numbers in E.164 format and track consent status.
Information from Third Parties
- Twilio: Our phone and text message provider sends us caller ID information, call status, and message delivery data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service: Make scheduled calls to Clients, send text messages to Caregivers, and deliver alerts.
- Personalize the AI companion: The AI uses Client details (name, bio, hobbies, health notes) to have more meaningful and helpful conversations.
- Deliver reminders: The AI uses scheduled task descriptions to remind Clients about medications, appointments, or other important items.
- Send alerts: Notify Caregivers when a Client does not answer their scheduled calls.
- Improve our service: Review calls and texts for quality assurance, testing, and to make the AI better.
- Maintain records: Keep conversation history so the AI can remember past interactions and continue naturally.
- Fix problems: Log errors and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Comply with the law: Respond to legal requests and meet regulatory requirements.
3. How We Share Your Information
With Caregivers
If you are a Client (loved one), your Caregiver may receive information about you, including:
- Whether you answered or missed your scheduled calls.
- Alerts when you do not answer after multiple call attempts.
- Call transcripts and conversation summaries.
- General status updates about your account.
This sharing is a core part of the service. Your Caregiver enrolled you so they can be informed about your well-being. If you do not want information shared with your Caregiver, please contact us or ask your Caregiver to remove your account.
With Service Providers
We share information with companies that help us run ElderDial:
- Twilio: Handles phone calls and text messages. Twilio processes your phone number and message content to deliver calls and texts.
- AI providers: Powers the AI companion. Call audio and transcripts are sent to AI services to generate responses.
- Database hosting provider: Stores your account data securely.
For Legal Reasons
We may share your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe it is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Protect the safety of any person.
- Protect our rights or property.
- Investigate fraud or security issues.
Business Transfers
If ElderDial, Inc. is sold, merged, or acquired, your information may be transferred to the new owner. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Monitoring and Recording
All calls and text messages processed through the Service may be monitored, recorded, and reviewed for quality assurance, safety, and service improvement purposes by both ElderDial and our partners. This includes:
- Automated transcription and AI analysis of all phone conversations.
- Storage of complete call transcripts and SMS message history.
- AI-driven analysis of conversations to extract scheduling requests, consent changes, and health-related observations.
- Human review of transcripts and messages when necessary for quality assurance, safety investigations, customer support, or dispute resolution.
- We may use anonymized or aggregated data from calls and texts for research and development.
5. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including:
- Secure database storage with access controls.
- Authentication and authorization controls for account access.
- Limiting access to personal information to authorized personnel.
- Checking consent before making any automated calls or sending any texts.
However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed, disclosed, or destroyed by mistake or through unauthorized actions.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Account data: We keep your information as long as your account is active.
- Call transcripts and text records: We keep these for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after to comply with legal requirements and improve our service.
- Consent records: We keep records of consent and revocation indefinitely to comply with US telecommunications regulations.
- Error logs: We keep technical logs for troubleshooting and may delete them periodically.
When you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required by law to keep it.
7. SMS and Text Messaging
When you interact with ElderDial via SMS:
- You may send and receive text messages to create, configure, and manage accounts for our check-in call service.
- Message frequency varies. You will receive multiple messages during account setup and occasional messages after that for alerts and updates.
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
- You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a one-time confirmation and no further messages will be sent.
- You can resume texts at any time by texting START.

- SMS opt-in consent is not shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.
- Supported carriers include but are not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint. Service availability may vary by carrier.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Consent
- Caregivers: Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages. Reply START to resume.
- Clients: Tell your AI companion during any call that you want to stop automated calls. You can also ask your Caregiver to contact us.
Access and Deletion
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you.
- Get a copy of your information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information and close your account.
- Withdraw consent for data processing.

If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:

ElderDial is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our service does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because ElderDial operates through phone calls and text messages, not through a web browser.
